Land Referencing for Atkins/Highways England

The project:  

In 2017 Atkins collaborated with TerraQuest as a long-term partner to support in delivering a programme of schemes for the Highways England Regional Investment Programme (RIP). The schemes were through either the DCO or CPO process, both of which are fully supported by TerraQuest’s years of land referencing expertise and experience; amalgamating the Atkins Project Team with the TerraQuest team to improving efficiency and deliver results. The scheme covered a wide breadth of complex, regional improvements across England including M25 Junction Improvement.

Our solution:

TerraQuest delivered a breadth of land referencing services as part of the Atkins project, including:  

• Land referencing services including initial desktop research, site visits and issuing questionnaires to all parties with land interests
• Desktop referencing, verifying parties and addresses through comprehensive research
• Referencing of unregistered owners, tenants and occupiers of land, including highways and subsoil
• Full contact referencing with contact site visits, to assist in access work, and to identify unregistered interests
• Provision of a works programme with forecast profile managed and issued monthly.

The outcome:

TerraQuest continues to successfully support Atkins on the Highways England Regional Investment Programme (RIP) with our highly-skilled technical staff and highly experienced land referencing leadership.  

Our rich experience in Land Referencing and infrastructure allowed us to provide consistent property and land ownership advice up to and beyond making of the order, whilst implementing a rigorous audit trail of evidence throughout.
